The panel of Judges for the competition comprises

Her Excellency Dr Maleeha Lodhi is a graduate of the London School of Economics where she obtained her doctorate in Politics before teaching there for five years. Turning to a remarkable career in journalism, which spanned eight years and the editorship of two major English language newspapers, Dr Lodhi published two books of her writings: Pakistan's Encounter with Democracy and The External Dimension. She has twice been Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US and was nominated by the Time Magazine amongst the world’s 100 pace-setters in 1994. She was appointed High Commissioner in London in 2003.

Lord Weatherill served in the British Indian Army in the Second World War, and has been a frequent visitor to his Regiment 19th Lancers in Pakistan. He is also a trustee of the Graham Layton Trust offering free eye treatment. He was Speaker of the House of Commons for many years, and presently sits in the House of Lords as an Independent.
General The Lord Guthrie has served as Chief of General Staff of the British Army and as Britain’s Chief of Defence Staff. He has won many friends in Pakistan whilst at the helm of the Defence Forces and has a keen insight in the affairs of the Sub Continent and the Region.
Field Marshal Sir John Chapple was formerly the British Army's Chief of the General Staff. He served in the 2nd Gurkha Rifles and has strong links with the armed forces of Pakistan. He is President of the Indian Military History Society, which draws upon the history of the British Indian Army.
Isobel Shaw was born in Ireland. Since graduating from Cambridge University in 1965, she has lived and worked in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. Her lasting love has been for Pakistan where she was a resident for three years, and where she spends one or two months every year, leading tours, trekking and exploring.
Sir Christopher MacRae was British High Commissioner to Pakistan from 1994 to 1998. He has travelled the length and breadth of Pakistan and forged an abiding association with the country and its people. He is currently Chairman of the Pakistan Society in the United Kingdom.
Ms Annabel Ross is with the BBC World Service and has deep interest in International and youth affairs.
Ms Victoria Schofield
is a scholar and an author devoted to the study of Pakistan. Her recent publications include ‘Kashmir in Conflict’, 'Kashmir in the Crossfire' and her latest, ‘Afghan Frontier’, is due in September 2003.
Mr Christopher Thatcher
is a scholar and educationalist of distinction, and past President of the National Association of Head Teachers.
